Coworker += 1

I've always been a jack-of-all trades. I consider myself pretty lucky to have the skill of learning new skills extend beyond just "full-stack developer"; I've always kept a foot in the design world, I learned the business and accounting side of consulting, and over the last few years I've been learning more about the marketing and advertising side of business.

This personality trait, the urge to keep learning well beyond my comfort zone, has kept me happily self-employed for the last five years. I left my J-O-B job because I wanted better control over the work I did, and how I did it.

And in that way it's been a rousing success.

But there's only so much someone can do solo. I can't take on more than two or three real projects a year by myself, and I certainly can't take on ones beyond the scope of a single developer.

There is a reasonable likelihood you already know Joe Cieplinski. He co-hosts the Release Notes podcast (and conference). He's been an independent consultant, like me, for quite some time.

We've known each other for a few years now and over that time have come to realize we have a lot in common, especially when it comes to our opinions on business and just how we want to help our clients.

Turns out we had one other thing in common: like me, he was hungry to do more.

Today starts a new venture for us. We're combining forces to start Breakpoint Studio.

Together we have decades of experience shipping great products on both web and mobile, but we're in this to do more than just that. Shipping is just the beginning. We want to help our customers grow their business. Surviving in the mobile market is tough, but many people out there continue to prove it is do-able.

We're here to do everything we can to increase that number of successful ventures.

So get in touch and let's build something great together.
